Information for the letter:
The recipient is being asked to participate in a study of lead and copper levels in tapwater samples. The study is being conducted by the Environmental Engineering Technology Program at Three Rivers.
If the recipient agrees to participate, they will have to collect a sample as follows (set this up as an outline numbered list): The night before the sample is collected, remove the aerator from the tap, clean out any debris, run the water for exactly one minute and replace the aerator on the tap. Let the water sit unused for at least 6 hours, but no more than 24 hours. Before any water is run, open the bottle, place it under the tap, turn on the tap and fill the bottle. Cap the bottle. Write your name and the date on the label. Call the sender of the letter to arrange pick-up of the sample.
Thank the recipient and give a phone number for questions.
