To view Excel files downloaded using Netscape:

There's a bit of work to this but it should work:

1. Click on the link for the Excel file. The file will load as gibberish.
2. Hit CTRL+I to view the Page Info.
3. Near the middle of the page will be a line that says something like "Local cache file: MUD5NMGB.XLS". The "MUD5NMGB" part will be different, but the ".XLS" will be the same. Make a note of this name.
4. Use the Windows Explorer or My Computer window to go to the folder C:\Program Files\Netscape\User\your_name\cache
5. Find the file with the name you noted above. Double click it and the file will open in Excel. You can then save it under some meaningful name in the folder of your choice.
